Betsy was a brilliant quilter, winning many awards over the years for her craft and creativity. She was a member of the Lake Gaston Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Virginia and North Carolina and the Tar River Piecemakers Quilting Guild.  She enjoyed sharing her love of quilting with others by teaching classes and taking road trips both near and far to different quilting conventions and festivals with her quilting friends.

She also enjoyed playing tennis with friends and watching sunsets with Tommy on their deck.

While living in Concord, Betsy was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.  Since moving to Lake Gaston, she enjoyed supporting local ministries with her church family at Lakeside Lutheran Church and served as a member of the Lakeside Lutheran Church Congregational Council.

Betsy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Joel Freeman and his wife, Heather, of Wilkesboro, NC; a daughter, Jayme F. Boswell and her husband, Brian, of Wilson, NC; and two granddaughters, Makenna and Addisen Freeman of Wilkesboro.
