Lakeside learning with the Lake Gaston Association

Students from Warren County Middle School had the chance to learn more about water safety and to explore things like boyancy (will an orange float? How about a peeled orange?) at the recent Lakeside Learning Day at Granite Hall Shores. Volunteers from the Lake Gaston Association have made it their mission to help local students discover more about an environment that is very near to their homes but many have never experienced.

Coordinators said students favorite aquatic plant was Lyngbya, ‘Because it was gross.’
The next Lakeside Learning Day will be held for William R. Davie students at Edwards Beach on April 6. You can support these activities by calling 252-586-6169.
