Warren and Halifax counties each provided COVID-19 vaccination updates on Tuesday.
"Due to significant weather events across the country, we were notified that our shipment of vaccines will be delayed," Warren County Health Director Margaret Brake said in a news release. "If you have an appointment to get your vaccine on Wednesday, February 17th, we will reschedule your appointment as soon as we receive the vaccine.
"We will also contact you if you have an appointment later this week and have to reschedule. We apologize for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over the shipping or delivery of vaccines.
A Halifax County Health Department news release Tuesday stated, "Due to severe weather throughout the country, we have not received vaccine for tomorrow’s appointments. We are presently calling everyone that has an appointment for tomorrow to inform them.
"As soon as we receive vaccine we will allow all who were scheduled to be prioritized for the first possible vaccination date. At present time, we do not know when we might receive vaccine."
The Northampton County Health Department had to postpone its scheduled vaccine clinic for Rich Square on Feb. 20 due to weather conditions around the country delaying shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine.
On Friday, Feb. 26, the Cultural and Wellness Center in Jackson will host a first Moderna vaccine clinic (Groups 1 and 2) by the Rural Health Group, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Call 252-534-1668 or 252-534-1303 ext. 2 to schedule an appointment.
