The holiday season is upon us, and the town of Littleton is excited to celebrate Christmas as a community.  Saturday, Dec. 4, is going to be the day to set aside and get into the holiday spirit.

Festivities will start at 11 a.m. with the town Christmas parade.  The route will be along Mosby Avenue and Highway 158/903 from the traffic light to the Piggly Wiggly.  If you are interested in joining the parade, you can call 252-586-6169. Lineup starts at 10 a.m. at Lakeland Theatre Company, 411 Mosby Ave., Littleton. This parade has been an annual town event for more than 60 years.

In the evening, it’s all hands on deck for the annual Lake Gaston Flotilla. You can join the fun as a spectator or as a participant. If you would like to register your decorated, Christmas-themed boat, you can contact the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce by calling 252-586-5711 or emailing info@lakegastonchamber.com. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second-, and third-place boat decorations. Lineup is at 5 p.m. at The Pointe at Lake Gaston restaurant, and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. The route will go from there to the bridge by WatersView restaurant, and then circle back.

Santa Claus will also be around to hang out with those in attendance and to share some hot cocoa that will be served.
