Despite the slowdown in the economy caused by COVID-19, the Affinity Living Group has been rolling along with the construction of Landings of Lake Gaston, an assisted living community located just outside of Littleton on North Mosby Avenue.
“We are both proud and excited that construction progress is moving along quickly for The Landings of Lake Gaston,” said Sandra Korzeniewski, a senior vice president for Lake Gaston’s management company. “The framing of both sides of the building is complete, and now construction of the exterior walls and roof are underway. We are on track to open the building by the end of 2020, and we can’t wait to become a part of the greater Littleton community.”
To clarify what assisted living is, the spokesperson for Landings of Lake Gaston, James Harvey, said that it’s for people who need a little bit of help with day-to-day things like feeding themselves or showering, but it’s not a nursing home.
“Our residents don’t require a high level of medical oversight, but they might be a fall risk,” Harvey said. He also mentioned that it’s not independent living, either.
The more than 50-unit project will include some studios and other rooms with a shared living space.
The new senior living facility is expecting to bring about 33 full- and part-time jobs to the area.
“We are looking forward to making a positive impact on the seniors of Littleton, with the addition of a new assisted living community to the area,” said Senior Vice President of Development for Affinity Living Group Warren Boatman. “Once completed, this community will provide exceptional care services, comfortable living spaces and desirable amenities to its residents. We can’t wait to serve Littleton’s seniors and become a part of the greater community.”
The Landings at Lake Gaston will feature amenities like an onsite salon, spa, group and private dining areas, social engagement and life enrichment programs, onsite physician services, and enhanced personalized care.
The Landings of Lake Gaston doesn’t have a prospective opening date yet, but anyone interested in becoming a resident should contact Robin Waller at 828-270-2026 for more information.
