Hosted by wake board professional and trainer Adam Fields, owner of AFWake located on the south shore of Lake Gaston, the Big Air Fair, set for Saturday, June 22 beginning at 9 a.m., is a chance to “spread the stoke!” as Fields puts it, by showing how much fun can be had with a variety of water sports.

AF Wake, Liquid Force, and Centurion Boats bring the world’s best water sports athletes front and center for an interactive day of fun. High-flying action, amazing tricks, gnarly crashes, sweet new boats, great tunes, sunshine and bikinis, food from the famous Chef Christian Brown, new friends, and free swag are just some of the exciting things you’ll find at wakeboarding events.

The goal is to entertain and show participants what is possible on the water among the various water sports.

“We’re here to help you find the newest and coolest gear, learn more about the sports, and have more fun on the water. Meet the pros, grab autographs, drinks, and great food on-shore,” Fields said. “Or, bring an anchor to watch from the lake. Both vantage points make for a great view to see the action. Music blasts and announcing keeps you informed during the show.”

All the action takes place at the south end of the Eaton’s Ferry Bridge on Lake Gaston. Cars are free to park in the AF Wake parking lot. Boats will see a line of buoys and need to park in line, outside of those buoys, Fields advises.

Lake Gaston’s third paddleboard race starts at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Big Air Fair. Fields describes it as a short sprint-style race from the South Shore dock to the bridge and back. There is a $20 entry fee.

Paddleboards can be rented from AF Wake, but call ahead of time, because there is limited availability.

Grab some shade after the watersports show and come to the shop to hang out with the pros to take advantage of event sales.

AF Wake is offering various sponsorship opportunities, including event vendor space, athlete endorsements for Adam Fields professional rider, and “sponsor a rider” programs to help children afford more training or contest attendance.

Anyone who would like Fields and/or AF Wake to help them grow their business, or would like to set up a booth to promote their business at this year’s Big Air Fair should take a look at the Vendor Application/Agreement for their options, and contact Fields so he can get the process started.
