Tanglewood Shores Association residents and leaders gather for a group photo Friday.

Tanglewood Shores celebrated its 50th birthday over the weekend in spite of the rain. Even though the cookout and festivities had to be moved inside, according to Tanglewood Shores Association president Linda Adamos, the celebration attracted a crowd

“They all seemed to have a good time,” Adamos said.

Organizers held a silent auction and a T-shirt sale at the event, which also included a display of the history of Tanglewoood. Board members and past leaders were recognized, as well as Paul Carroll, Tanglewood’s oldest resident, and Paula Wood, who has lived in Tanglewood the longest.

Adamos said that Tanglewood Shores has a number of amenities, including tennis courts, a pool, club house, golf course, beach area, recreation area, and playgrounds. It remains the only community in the area with all of those features.
