Roanoke-Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department and Gaston Fire-Rescue EMS responded to a three-vehicle wreck Thursday morning involving an overturned tractor-trailer truck on Highway 46 in Northampton County.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. and around 10 a.m., traffic was anticipated to be shut down both ways for at least a couple of hours with the trailer, hauling lumber, in the roadway and the semi-truck attached to it also leaking diesel fuel.
Gaston Fire Chief Ed Porter said there were no injuries and the semi-trailer jackknifed when two trucks in front of it collided before the semi hit a light pole.
The wreck happened near Bobcat Trail, southeast of the intersection where Oak Grove Church Road becomes Old Gaston Road.
The N.C. Highway Patrol and Northampton County Sheriff's Department were also on the scene.
